Loenen aan de Vecht
Work was carried out on the Oostkanaaldijk in Loenen aan de Vecht to construct two pumping stations. The capacity of the current pumping station was no longer sufficient to regulate the water in the polder.
Our client built a polder pumping station to replace the current pumping station. This polder pumping station is partly located in the dike along the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal, where the stability of the dike posed a major risk to the work. That is why a lot of attention was paid to monitoring and guaranteeing dike safety.
Part of this was to create a bypass through the polder and to direct traffic on and off the existing dike without putting too much strain on the dike. A temporary bridge was built to the top of the dike for this purpose.
We opted for the JBB system because this bridge is slender and can be laid with relatively light equipment. The bridge was laid in April 2024 and dismantled again in July 2024.
